Reptile Ridge
This is a picture of Rothera taken at the beginning of the season when there is snow. You can see the runway which is just under a km long and then a ridge line that runs in a semi circle. That ridge is called Reptile Ridge. Last weekend Claire, Clive and I walked from the runway up the ridge and then back along the traverse. Unfortunately as it was snowing at the time and visibility was less than a km the view wasn’t great but it was still a bunch of fun. There are quite a few crevasses showing up now as we get to the middle of summer so we were roped up and wearing crampons as usual.
The peaks to the right of that ridge is the Storks which is a walk we did a month ago where we summitted all three peaks in stunning weather.
